Water Supply Beirut – Libano

Beirut suffers from chronic water shortages.  The project, which will receive 200 million dollars in funding from the World Bank, is the largest by an Italian company in the sector of Lebanese infrastructure in several years. By 2020-2022, the water transported through the tunnels is expected to be distributed to several areas of Beirut after being treated in purification facilities. Some 500,000 cubic meters of water are expected to reach the Beirut metropolitan area as a result, where almost half the Lebanese population lives and where water shortages are a serious problem. Some areas receive water only three hours a day.
